As part of AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ ongoing commitment to transparency and collective governance, the Club recently sought the views and ultimately the ballot vote of our Part Owners on a proposal currently being consulted upon by The Football Association (The FA) concerning the future structure of the Play-Offs at Steps 3 and 4 of the National League System (NLS).
The ballot closed on 19th November, and the result is as follows:
- Retain the existing four-club play-off system – 40% of the votes cast
- Adopt a six-club play-off format – 60% of the votes cast
The FA have therefore been notified that our Club is in favour of adopting the proposed six-club play-off format.
The result of the ballot forms the Club’s collective and binding response to The FA.
Any change agreed will not take effect until the 2026/27 season at the earliest.
