AFC Rushden & Diamonds have announced that midfielder Louis Smith has signed for Burton Park Wanderers in order to get first team experience between now and the end of the season.
With the Diamonds not having a reserve team, it will be a chance for Louis to gain more experience at senior level. Diamonds’ manager Mark Starmer stressed that Louis is still very much in the club’s long-term plans, but he needs to get more football under his belt at this stage in his career. Burton Park Wanderers can offer him that opportunity, but Mark commented that Louis is young and talented with a bright future ahead of him.
