The Club were delighted to host teams from all across the Midlands on Sunday, 7th June for a Walking Football Tournament in Islip. Both Over 50 and Over 60 categories were well represented by both local teams and those a bit further afield.
Chairman Rob Usher and Vice Chairman Alex Raspin were on-hand to present prizes to the winners, and draw the raffle! Congratulations to Over 60 winners Stamford AFC, and Over 50 winners Stratford Town! And of course, a big well done to our very own AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Lastly, our thanks to Islip Parish Council for the use of their facilities on the day.
The Walking Football section at AFC Rushden & Diamonds is extremely popular and always on the lookout for more people to get involved. You don’t have to be a Diamonds supporter and your ability level doesn’t matter – everyone is welcome.
Our sessions take place every Monday night on at 7:30pm, on the 3G Pitch at Ferrers School in Higham Ferrers (NN10 8LF). They’re a great way to improve fitness, boost wellbeing and meet new people. You can also stop for a pint afterwards!
