AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of Edi Appleton.
Centre Back Appleton joins from Bedworth Utd, having started the season with Rugby Town. In 2014/15 Edi was a key member of the Corby Town Southern League Premier promotion winning team. Edi started his career with the Notts County and West Bromwich Albion Youth and Reserve teams before moving to Thailand to play for Samut Prakarn. He has also had spells with Hinckley Utd, and Hyde. Aged twenty-nine, Edi also faced the Diamonds when playing for Oadby Town in UCL Division One at the start of 2013, and went on to captain the club in their promotion winning season of 2013/14.
Providing all the paperwork is completed in time Edi will be available for selection against Beaconsfield SYCOB.
Edi joins recent signing Lynval Da Costa, who made a substitute appearance for the club during Tuesday’s victory against Aylesbury United. Lynval lists his previous clubs as Cogenhoe United, Kettering Town and Northampton Spencer, as well as having spent time on the books at Banbury United, Rugby Town and Histon, along with featuring in the United States where he played for Ocala Stampede.
