AFC Rushden & Diamonds / MAA U18 side have been confirmed as winners of the English Colleges Football Association East Midlands Category 2B League for the 2014/15 season.
With the League Table now having been updated with recent results, the Diamonds / MAA youngsters have clinched the title with a game to spare.
This team was only formed at the start of this season so it is great credit to manager Darren Purse and the scholars that they have won the title at the first time of asking – with players that are in the first year of a two year course.
The scholars now have a chance go for a “double”, as the Diamonds / MAA U18 side are also in the final of the Northants FA David Joyce U18 Cup. Their opponents in the final will be a team representing Peterborough United at U18 level, with the game to be played at the Dog & Duck on Wednesday May 6th (Kick Off 7:30pm).
