Chikamba and Cordon re-sign for 2022/23

We are pleased to confirm that Nigel Chikamba and Fraser Corden have signed Southern League forms for the 2022/23 season.

Chikamba, a central midfielder, signed forms for the first team last season and made the bench a number of times as the Diamonds competed for a playoff spot.

Cordon, an attacking midfielder, made his first team debut as a second half substitute away at ON Chenecks in the Hillier Senior Cup and has featured frequently in pre-season with the first team. He also made his full first team debut in the Hillier Senior Cup win away at Cogenhoe United last week.

Following on from their involvement with the first team last season, both Fraser and Nigel are very much players I expect to be in and around the first team squad this season and I expect them to be knocking the door. It’s healthy for first team players to be looking over their shoulders and these two should certainly be making them do that.

Andy Burgess: “Nigel is a central midfielder who I really like and needs to develop himself at first team level. He has the attributes and qualities to do so and it’s up to us to help him do that.

Fraser has had a really good pre-season with the first team and has stood out at times. He’s a clever and technical player who due to his size needs to understand how to use his attributes well in senior football, but with his attitude and traits he has a great chance.
