Director of Academy Vacancy

The Board of AFC Rushden & Diamonds are welcoming applicants to serve a casual vacancy as Director of Academy on a voluntary basis.

Serving as a Casual Director of the club, the Director of Academy will have exposure to discussion on all Club issues with input and suggestions welcomed, although will not retain voting rights. Working closely with the Head of Academy, the Director of Academy will be responsible for providing a clear link between Board and Academy and ensuring effective communication to realise our One Club values. The ideal candidate would be competent in working as part of a team to build, and the subsequent management of performance to,
annual budgets. An understanding of youth football and a desire to influence the development of our Pathway is essential.

Whilst this role can be completed remotely in its entirety, the availability to attend occasional face to face meetings would be conducive to the overall success of the role.

Role responsibilities include:
● Working alongside the Head of Academy to ensure the Pathway is delivered, both
financially and operationally, in a fashion that recognises the Club’s commitment to a
culture of development.
● Take a leading role in the building of the Academy cost centre 24/25 FY operating
forecast.
● Manage performance of the Academy cost centre budget, including quarterly
financial reviews and subsequent performance related business decisions.
● Provide monthly reports, either remotely or in person, to the Board.
● Support the Academy’s administrative team in the recruitment of new potential to the
Pathway in the form of both players and coaches.
