Over 250 brave souls attended the Diamonds Christmas Carol Service at Rushden Lakes
The organisers of the AFC Rushden & Diamonds annual Christmas Carol Service at Rushden Lakes on Wednesday 18th December 2019 were delighted with the turnout despite appalling weather during the evening. Over 250 brave souls attended the Carol Service, held this year for the first time on the Boardwalk. Lakeside at Rushden Lakes, the Counties Premier Shopping and Leisure Destination.
The service was led by the Rev Rachel Hawkins from St Peter’s Parish Church, Rushden
Everyone present was indebted to Bill’s Restaurant & Bar who allowed the service and accompanying musicians from Paul Needle’s Diamonds Jazz Quartet to be conducted from under the restaurants covered side canopy.
Sadly, the Reverend Richard Coles, the co-presenter for BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live and BBC One’s the Big Painting Challenge could not join the service. Prayers were said after the news about the loss and passing away after long illness of Richard’s Civil Partner David Coles.
