Harrowby United v AFC Rushden & Diamonds
Saturday 1st September 2012 – 3:00pm
ChromaSport and Trophies United Counties League Division One
Harrowby Fields, Dickens Road, Grantham NG31 9QY
For their second ever away game the Diamonds will make one of the furthest trips of the season when they travel to Harrowby Fields, Dickens Road to face Harrowby United (NG31 9QY) in the ChromaSport and Trophies United Counties League Division One on Saturday. Harrowby is towards the north-east corner of Grantham. The ground is in the corner of a large sportsfield, between Dickens Road and Harrowby Lane, with a social club on-site. Although parking is limited on site, the club have arranged for parking at the school next to the ground. The journey is around 55 miles one way.
Note that Harrowby are currently in the planning phase for upgrading their ground, and a future part of that will be to install seating so facilities will still be limited at the weekend. Note also that the game is being dedicated to the memory of their groundsman, Lesley “Stan” Staniland, who sadly died this week.
Harrowby have not advised of any specific admission prices for this game, but expect to pay the usual UCL Division One prices similar to those charged at the Dog and Duck. Their website can be found here. They play in Red Shirts and Black shorts.

Our Opponents
The current Harrowby United club re-formed in 2012 following the closure of an earlier club that had previously held that name before becoming Grantham Rangers. The original club was formed in 1949 and entered the UCL in 1990, resigning from the league in 2006.
The Arrows are managed by Mark Fardell, and their club colours are red and black. They lost their first home game of the season 2-3 at the hands of Northampton Sileby Rangers – report here. Their club website is here.
