AFC Rushden & Diamonds are excited to announce the signing of experienced 30-year-old defender Michael Harriman.
Harriman is a vastly experienced campaigner, with over 300 Football League appearances for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Wycombe Wanderers, Gillingham, Luton Town and Northampton Town.
Michael dropped out of the professional game in the summer of 2022 following his release from Northampton and having made a handful of appearances for Bedford Town at the start of this season, took a break from the game. He is now keen to get back involved with the Diamonds.
Manager Chris Nunn had been looking to add to his defensive options following the recent departure of Luca Doorbar-Baptist and is delighted to bring Michael to the Club: “We’ve got a bit of an eye on next season with this signing. It was a no-brainer to bring a player of Michael’s experience into the group and the next couple of months gives us a chance to look at him and likewise, gives Michael the opportunity to get a feel for the way we operate. He’s still only 30, he’s a local lad and he’s got loads to offer us but having not played for the vast majority of this season will need a bit of time to get up to speed. Games are coming thick and fast for the rest of this season and I look forward to getting Michael involved in the squad sooner rather than later.”
Subject to league approval, Michael Harriman is available for selection for Saturday’s Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central fixture at Redditch United.
