35 mins – A few chances to score for Diamonds in quick succession. The goalkeeper makes a smart save but the ball falls to Denba Daffeh who tucks it under the keeper to put Diamonds in front.

Diamonds should have been 2-0 up early but squandered a couple of good chances. MK came back in to the game the longer the half went on but on balance Diamonds deserve the lead at HT.

HT Diamonds 1-0 MK Irish

46 mins – It’s a great strike to be fair from the MK forward who finds the top corner from the right hand side of the box. Little the keeper could do with that one. A nightmare start to the second half for Diamonds.

51 mins – Huge chance for Irish to take the lead. A great initial save from the Diamonds keeper but the ball falls straight to an MK player who skies it with the goal at his mercy.

56 mins – Diamonds retake the lead. Slightly against the run of play. The ball pops up on the edge of the box and Klesti Hasa fires a cracking volley in to the bottom right hand corner.

60 mins – Huge save from the Irish keeper – a fantastic stop from yet another Hasa volley. He connected perfectly and it was tipped over.

69 mins – It’s level again. It’s a soft one, as Diamonds fail to deal with a ball to the back post and the Irish wide player just slides it in calmly.

90+5 mins – Heartbreak for Diamonds right at the death. The Diamonds keeper again makes a superb save. A bit of pinball in the box and the Irish player fires in to the top corner.

It’s the last kick of the game as well.

FT Diamonds 2-3 MK Irish

Diamonds exit the FA Youth Cup at the first hurdle. It was a game of 2 halves with Diamonds having the better of the first and MK the better of the second. On balance, Irish possibly deserved to progress.
