03/07/26: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to confirm the signing of Club Legend Sam Brown from National League North side Bedford Town, with the experienced left-back returning to Hayden Road on a permanent basis. Sam needs little introduction to Diamonds supporters, having made 334 appearances for the Club whilst achieving 3 promotions. His return adds valuable experience to Elliot Sandy’s squad ahead of the new season.

Manager Elliot Sandy said: “We’re really pleased to bring Sam back to the Club. He’s an experienced player who knows what this Club is about and what it means to represent AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Left-back was a position we wanted to strengthen this summer, and Sam was the outstanding option. He brings quality, experience and consistency, and he’ll be a big asset for us both on and off the pitch. I’m sure everyone connected with the Club will be pleased to see him back, and we’re looking forward to working with him again.”

Brown’s return sees one of the Club’s most experienced players back at Hayden Road, with the defender now within reach of Garry Butterworth’s all-time appearance record for Rushden & Diamonds, which stands at 371. Welcome back to the Diamonds, Sam, we’re all delighted to have you back!
