31/12/22: AFC Rushden & Diamonds are thrilled to announce the signing of 21-year-old Luke Massingham from Southern League Division One Central side Thame United.

The towering 6’ 4” central defender started his career within the youth set-up at Wealdstone and Slough Town, captaining the former. At senior level, Luke counts Staines Town, Bracknell Town, Chalfont St. Peter, Rayners Lane and Kempston Rovers amongst former clubs.

Luke becomes Chris Nunn’s first signing for the Club and Chris was understandably delighted to get his man: “Luke has played against my teams in the past and impressed me greatly. He’s a big, strong and powerful lad that talks and organizes. He’s exactly what we need and I’m sure in time he will go on to play at a higher level. Luke will come in as Vice-Captain and I look forward to seeing him in a Diamonds shirt.”

Subject to league approval, Luke will be in the squad for Monday’s game against St. Ives Town.

23/10/23: AFC Rushden & Diamonds can confirm this morning that Club Captain Luke Massingham has opted to leave the Club to pursue an opportunity at a higher level, with a club much closer to home. Luke was Chris Nunn’s first signing and came straight in as Vice-Captain before taking the armband shortly thereafter. In total he made 24 appearances for the Club, scoring twice.
